It Was Only A Dream

Shuffling along in the rain
Thoughts swirling in vain
A whispered prayer falls
Before being shoved into a wall
Cold metal pressed to skin
Waiting for it to begin
Silent tears roll down
Then she is bound
A cry for help is never heard
From this she will never be cured
His pleasure makes her sick
As she hears the clock tick
She opens her eyes in fright
To be greeted by light
Breathing a sigh of relief
That despite her belief
It was only a dream

A Musical Twist

Music is an important part of your life no matter who you are. You most likely don't even go more than two days with out hearing it some shape or form. Some may listen in the car, others while playing on the comuter, and others while studying. Everyone has their favorite, from mainsteam, to pop, to rock, to country, to jazz, the list goes on. Very few will say that they actually enjoy classical music unless they are trying to sleep, if even then. Well my dears, I'm sorry to tell you how wrong you are. Ok, so maybe I'm not sorry to say this, but the other day on itunes i found this group, the Vitamin String Quartet and they take all kinds of music and play it all with string instaments. They are wonderful and have any kind of music you like. Soundtracks to movies, paramore, red jumpsuit apparatus, rock band tributes, lady antabellum, rolling stones, deaf lepord, and on and on. I looked threw over 200 before i stopped. So if anyone actually reads this i think you should check them out.It is well worth your time, I promise.

Waiting For A Break

Waiting and waiting, the time never comes

All I want to do is run far away

Where no one can find me

Yet here I sit, silently in pain

Wishing for tears would fall

I can only do one thing

Keep my head high

Keep on counting

Keep waiting for a break

Beyond Understanding

We all know those commercials that say things like friends don’t let friends drink and drive or friends don’t let friends do weed and so on and so forth. But what they fail to realize is that it’s not that simple. How do you tell your best friend that they need to change their habits without pissing them off? Don’t get me wrong, I’m nowhere near the little miss perfect who has never took a single sip of alcohol before in my life. I don’t find anything wrong with that. My problem is with the people who drink a ton then go drive around town. But Drinking is not my main reason for writing this little rant that is sure to piss off a few people in this world. It’s the drugs that really get me. All thru high school I knew people who did different drugs. Hell, half of my graduating class took at least one type of drug every day their senior year. If you were doing them then staying home, I couldn’t really complain. It’s when you take them then come to school where you have responsibilities. It’s getting high and drunk then leading the team or band onto the field that drives me insane. But I can handle being driven insane; life is not meant to be sane after all. It’s people who only get high because of the people that hang around them that make me want to scream bloody murder. Ok so you got into the wrong crowd or fell for someone in the wrong crowd. Big deal. Life goes on. But doing things just because the people you are around do it is beyond my understanding. I know it’s not my life; it’s theirs so I have no right to say anything about it, and so I won’t. I’ll be the good friend who listens when they talk about it and then hope they don’t get hurt doing it. What else can I do? You can’t tell your friend, “hey I love you but you have to stop doing drugs” they will laugh at you or it will cause a huge fight. I need someone to explain to me what the appeal of drugs is. Maybe if I understood that then I wouldn’t have to fight the urge to judge people who do drugs. The only exception in my eyes is cancer patients. If they take marijuana that is monitored by a responsible person then I see no harm. Why you ask? Simply because it helps them keep food down and makes them feel better from all the chemo they go thru. Call me a hypercritic or whatever you want. I know my point hasn’t been very clear but let me clearly state my view point on drugs. It’s your life, if you want to do it then knock yourself out. I won’t judge you, but I will not support you. So to everyone who is friends of someone who does things like that just sit back and watch. If it gets to extreme though, you do need to try and get them help.

Music Is Life

It’s a saying we have heard for as long as we can remember. Music is Life. No one really debates this statement but no one has defined why it is. Music doesn’t provide air, nutrients, or anything else necessary for survival. It does, however provide an emotional release. Think about it, when your mad, you play your hardest rock that you have on your computer, mp3, iPod, cell phone, or whatever you use. The same goes when we getting ready for a party, feeling hopelessly in love, or depressed. We always turn to music, most of the time before we turn to family. It has a power over you. You get lost in the rhythms of the bass, the melody of the lead guitar, the steady beat of the drums, and the lyrics that seem to be written just for you. Then, like magic, all your problems don’t seem so bad, or if you are already in a good mood, nothing can touch you from the high that you are on.
How is that life though? Just because music helps us through problems doesn’t mean that it’s life, right? But it does. Music will never betray you, leave you, hurt you, or disappoint you. It won’t judge, demand things, or blame you. It is life because it is a part of you. What kind of person would you be with out music? Would you be dead because it wasn’t in your car to keep you awake on a long drive? Would you still be crying in your bed? Music is Salvation, Music is Life.

Nightmares of Knifes

Tossing and turning in fearscreaming for no one to hear
cold sweat running down her brow
she can't escape now

Closer and closer they come
fog following some
wanting desperately to run
but they have already started the fun
